Research and atmosphere: the X-11 airship on an inspection mission (AI concept visual)AI concept visual

The problem

Air-quality and greenhouse-gas measurements from multicopters are affected by rotor downwash, vibration and short flight times.

How the airship helps

A buoyant platform with low noise and near-zero downwash carries gas and air analysers for long sampling runs and repeated profiles up to 120 m.

Typical sensors

  • Gas analysers
  • Particle counters
  • Meteorological sensors

Each row shows the strongest option for that task. We also show where another platform is the better choice.

Where the airship wins for research and atmosphere
