5G, satellite and Galileo: how the X-11 stays connected

Beyond visual line of sight, the airship needs a link that does not depend on towers, and a position it can trust.

Command and data run over radio and the 5G mobile network. The X-11 also carries a satellite terminal as the back-up channel, so the link holds where terrestrial coverage drops. For navigation we combine Galileo HAS corrections, which give 20 cm-class accuracy without local base stations, with Galileo OSNMA, which authenticates position and time against spoofing.

Satellite weather data feeds mission planning, so routes avoid conditions outside the operating limits.
